To help you along here we have compiled a list of questions and helpfully provided answers too.
If you can't find what your looking for or want more information then please visit the forums and ask!
This website was built to help people use what ingredients they have handy, its grown since then however and now contains some of the best recipes on the internet. It's also become a great place to meet new people and learn new skills. No matter how skilled (or not) you are in the kitchen.
Well there are a lot of recipe websites out there, thats for sure.
But we focus on quality rather than quantity, unlike other websites that have hundreds of thousands of mediocre recipes, we want to show you the best of them.
This also applies to the quality of the website, our recipe search is the best on the planet and is being used by guardian.co.uk which is one of the biggest websites on the planet. Generally we look at other websites and always think 'this could and should be better'.
Everything is free, we will not charge a single penny for anything on the website. ever.
We make our money through advertising around the site, we are strict about how much there is and what the adverts are however.
We are also exploring links with supermarkets, other news organisations and developing things like iPhone apps of which all are smart ideas to providing you with excellent content for free.
Your details are absolutley save here and we do not do anything with them. They stay with us and no-one else gets their hands on them.
You don't have to sign up but you'd be missing out on some great features and it takes litteraly two minutes to do.
We like to think that if you like our website you will sign up to show your support for what we are doing
More than that there are loads of unique features available to members, like profiles so you can promote your twitter or own website, save recipes and even upload your own recipe.
Yes. We really appreciate our members recipes and would love to have them here so other members can enjoy them also.
However, unlike other website we want to promote quality rather than quantity so we have a guest judge each week to review/test each recipe to see if it makes the grade.
You can add lots of information to your profile, we have set up a couple of fun foodie questions so people can get a little insight into what your about. You can add a picture by uploading one to us or using Gravatar which is free.
We also encourage you to promote your own website/blog if you have one, the same applies to twitter.
There are lots of ways to interact, you can save, rate or comment on their recipes and they will get a little notification about it.
There are also groups where people who share common interests gather. The same is true of the forums.
Also your profile has a comment wall so that other foodies can contact you directly.
This feature is like a mini-twitter style feature that lets you follow someone on the website.
What this means is that you will recieve updates in your feed about what they have been up to like uploading or commenting on recipes (much more too).
Fans are users that saved your recipes, it is like a little thank you to the author that then knows their recipe has struck a chord with other people.
Of course, its yours!
When logged in, if you go to that recipe you will see a link at the top that lets you edit or delete the recipe.
If you decide to delete the recipe, there is no going back. It will be deleted from our system and so too will any comments/ratings or fans that saved it.
Yes, its really easy and quick to set up a group and it can be on anything you like. Just go to groups and the link is on the right hand side.
Anyone who is a member of the group can add recipes, simply go to a recipe you want to add and then there is a drop down box on the right hand side that you can use.
It is up to you to promote it to other members, we might promote a group occasionally on the front page but by interacting with other members on the website you can drum up some support for it.
Not right now, this is on a to-do list for us.
